As part of its educational mission, the department of Engineering Science and Mechanics maintains its undergraduate fluids lab. This lab supports lab classes for a number of departments in the engineering college. The experiments and equipment contained in or associated with this lab includes:

Hydrostatic Bench for Measurement of

Fluid density and viscosity
Hydrostatic forces
Calibration of pressure gauges

3 Hydraulic Benches-Experiments include:

Jet momentum and impact
Bernoulli's theorem/Venturi meter
Laminar and turbulent flow in pipes
Flow meters

Drag Measurement on Circular Cylinders^*

Momentum deficit with LDV
Surface pressure measurements

Ship Model Experiment^*

Miscellaneous Demonstrations^*

Hydraulic jump
